April Update

It's hard to believe, but we are less than 50 days from arrival date.  Pretty crazy!  Cate is doing well, although her hands have been hurting quite a bit due to pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel syndrome.  Not fun, but she is a tremendous trooper.  Besides that, her latest rounds of tests and labs all came back great, including her final glucose test.  That means that her current love affair with watermelon can continue, so that investment I made in the watermelon industry will start paying off for sure!

Cate was very blessed to have an amazing shower thrown for her in Pennsylvania by Emily and Mom.  It was quite beautiful and Cate had a ton of fun.  Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate and make us feel so incredibly loved!  We really do appreciate all of the support that we have gotten throughout this process.  We love you all!

We took a trip to Babies R Us recently armed with gift cards and coupons and picked up a few of the things that we needed to feel like we would be ready if Tenny were to suddenly show up unexpected, Cousin Eddie-style.  This was prompted by a very incredible experience while we were in PA visiting with my friend and his wonderful pregnant wife.  Long story short, she went into labor 30 minutes after we got there!  So, we decided that it was time to wrap a few things up like getting some diapers, wipes, and bottles, ya know, just in case :)

Finally, we have been working to finish the nursery and we feel that we are finally there.  While we are still waiting on my wonderful artistic sister to help trim a few mattes for the pictures on the wall, we felt like the final piece of the puzzle came in the mail today.  We had seen a quilt on Etsy that we loved, but it was just a lap quilt and we wanted something a little bigger.  So we messaged the artist and she agreed to make a similar quilt, just a bit bigger.  It is beautiful, and we decided to base all of the color schemes in the nursery on this fabulous work of art.  Thank you to madebyteressa for creating this amazing piece!  Enjoy the pictures below and let us know what you think!

29 Weeks!

Look at that beauty!

29 weeks into it, and the end can't come soon enough!!  We had a check-up today with Dr. Hargrove and found out that everything with Tenny is going great!  There were a couple of downers.  The first one is that Cate is going to have to go back for a 3 hour glucose test after the initial test came back a little bit high.  The Doc thinks everything is going to be ok, but just keep Cate in mind and in your prayers.  Gestational diabetes is not fun, especially when all of your cravings revolve around fruit!  Speaking of which, watermelon.  We bought a 1/4 watermelon the other night, and before I knew it, it had disappeared.  I think I ate about 4 bites.  The second issue is that Cate has officially been diagnosed with pregnancy-related carpal tunnel.  Boo.  Sore wrists and fingers are quite likely until after Tenny gets here (so if you work with her and your reading this, please help her open some of those pesky pill packages!).

We're busy working on the nursery and pictures should be up before too long!  Love you all and thank you so much for your support and prayers.

March Update

Although it may not seem like it at times, everything is starting to come together.  That is very good thing, considering Tennyson is due to enter this world in just 85 DAYS!  We've got a lot of the nursery together and we are beginning to collect a few of the the essentials when we see them on sale somewhere.  Here's a little preview with more to come as we get the decor on the walls.

Cate is really starting to feel the pregnant, and her bump has officially turned her innie into an outie.  She's got a lot of aches and pains and still gets a bit sick every once in a while.  Keep her in your prayers as she toughs out these last two months.  Also, it seems the swelling that usually comes with pregnancy decided to arrive all at once.  Look at what her feet looked like today after a morning out!

Just now Tenny did a major freak out and we could actually see her wiggling around in there!  She is certainly an active little muffin.  We can't wait to meet and for all of you to meet her as well!  In the mean time, we can all enjoy a picture of our unbelievably cute fuzz kids fresh from the groomer:

February Update

Things are moving along swimmingly!  Tennyson is a a real mover and shaker and is kicking the daylights out of mama.  Her little tae kwon do routine is even strong enough to let me feel the action.  On top of all this, Cate's bump is pushing Appalachian status moving up toward the Rockies by the day.  Tennyson is about 1.5 pounds and 13.5 inches long, so think of a really big corn on the cob.  Anyway, we are working toward getting the nursery all wrapped up (including repainting the daybed after the original color did not meet mama's standards).  We'll post pictures once it's all together, which shouldn't be too long from now.

For now, you'll just have to soak in this glowing beauty!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are proud to present...

Tennyson Leigh Keafer

It's a...... GIRL!

At our 20 week ultrasounds today we found out we will be having a beautiful baby GIRL! Everything looks great, and based on measurements of her body and organs, she is cooking perfectly! She just 11oz, and is definitely a squirmy little girl. The ultrasounds tech said she was one of the most active babies she had ever seen. Looks like we might have our work cut out for us. :)
